Between us we've spent more than 25 years in combat gyms, and the last 12 months photographing or visiting every boxing room in Perth metro for this directory. There are 47 gyms that list boxing on their timetable. Only ten of them are worth a dedicated trip across town. This is our shortlist - ranked, with the prices we verified by phone in April 2026, and an honest read on who each room actually suits.

Quick context on how we ranked: we weighted Google rating × review count, but we override the maths whenever lived experience disagrees. A 4.9-star room with 30 reviews and a coach who runs sloppy beginner classes loses to a 4.7-star room with 200 reviews and obvious craft. We also discount any room that pushed us into hard contact on a trial - that's a bad-room tell, no exceptions.

What we found that other Perth boxing guides miss

• Five of the ten gyms on this list weren't on the first page of "boxing gyms Perth" when we started this project in April 2025. SEO and quality of training are not correlated.
• Three rooms run free trial weeks (not just a free class) - that's the single biggest filter for first-timers, and most directories don't surface it.
• The cheapest unlimited deal we verified - $160/mo at Drilich Combat Academy - includes Muay Thai and BJJ as well, which makes the per-class price closer to $4 if you train 4x/week.
• The most decorated coach in this list (Caesar Rios at AMMA Bayswater - Cuban Olympic system, multiple Australian title coaches under him) runs the smallest beginner class size. That's not a coincidence.

The shortlist (ranked)

1. Boxing Inc. (Subiaco, Innaloo, Mandurah, Joondalup)

The largest dedicated boxing chain in WA. Subiaco is the flagship - high ceilings, a full ring, 30+ classes a week, a coach roster that includes ex-pros, and a pace that can absorb a complete beginner without slowing the room down. Pricing is the highest on this list ($260/mo unlimited at Subiaco as of April 2026, $30 casual), but they earn it on volume of class options. Innaloo and Joondalup run the same model at the same price; Mandurah is a touch cheaper.

Best for: people who want a real timetable, not just "the boxing class on Tuesday." Worst for: anyone who wants a tight-knit, low-volume room - this isn't that.

2. The Cuban Boxing Club (Subiaco)

Cuban-system technical work, tight room, named coach lineage. The fundamentals classes are some of the most patient we've trained at - the coach corrects footwork before letting anyone throw a punch with intent. Pricing was $185/mo as of April 2026 with a free trial week. Beginner-friendly score: 9/10.

We watched a first-timer in his late 50s get walked through stance and basic head movement here without any condescension or rush. That's not standard.

3. AMMA Gym (Bayswater)

Caesar Rios runs the boxing program. His amateur and pro fighters have podiums at WA states regularly, and the room culture reflects that - it's a fight gym, not a fitness gym, and the line is drawn early. Trial classes are by appointment, not walk-in. Sparring sessions are vetted. If you want to compete in WA amateur boxing, this is where we'd send you.

Pricing as of April 2026: $200/mo unlimited, $25 casual. They run a separate fight-team membership at higher cost.

4. Drilich Combat Academy (Joondalup)

Best value-for-volume on this list. $160/mo gets you boxing + Muay Thai + BJJ + open mats. Boxing classes are run by a separate coach to the head Muay Thai instructor, so the technique stays clean - it doesn't drift into kickboxing-as-boxing. Beginner-friendly with a free trial.

Best for: anyone north of the river who wants to try multiple disciplines without paying three memberships.

5. Good Vibes Boxing (Cannington)

The most beginner-welcoming room in Perth. The owner explicitly markets to absolute beginners - the front-of-house has a printed flowchart for first-timers ("first class? read this"). It's the room we send anyone who has anxiety about walking into a gym. Lighter on competition pathway, heavier on retention.

6. Mandurah Combat Sports Academy

If you live south of Rockingham, this is your pick. Coach Nathan Charles runs an active fight team plus accessible beginner classes. The coastal-south Perth scene is small but tight; this room is the centre of it.

7. Scrappy MMA & Fitness (Wangara)

Officially MMA-led but the boxing curriculum here is unusually clean. Coach delivers a proper fundamentals progression - jab, cross, slip, pivot, pivot-cross. We've seen plenty of "MMA gyms" where boxing is taught as bag work with no head movement. This isn't one.

8. Kaizen Lab (Perth CBD)

BJJ-first room with a respectable boxing program. Useful if you work in the city and want a 6pm class within walking distance of your office. Pricing matches the postcode ($210/mo unlimited).

9. Guardians Gym (Bentley)

Old-school boxing room with a strong amateur pipeline. No frills, the change rooms are basic, but the technical curriculum is consistent week to week. Suits intermediate-to-advanced more than absolute beginners.

10. Luistro Combat Academy (Cannington)

Filipino combat-sport heritage room with a credible boxing instructor and a Muay Thai-heavy timetable. Affordable, friendly, slightly off the SEO radar. Free trial available - the website is dated, the training isn't.

Real talk - what most boxing-gym lists get wrong

Most "best boxing gyms Perth" articles are scraped from Google Business Profiles and ranked by star rating. That's why F45-style boxing-fitness rooms sometimes top the list. They're not boxing gyms. They're cardio classes with bag work. If you want to throw a clean cross at 65 you can't do that at any of those places, because nobody is correcting your stance.
